Mediterranean Paradise
Welcome to Villa Bellapais.
Variously translated Bellapais to me is 'Beautiful Place' but in some languages, it means beautiful view and another, it means beautiful peace.
All are true.
I hope this little website will give you a feel of the place. Not until you go will you really know why people return year in year out to this little sanctuary.
I hope you, my friends and family, will enjoy the endless swims in the pool, the barbecues and the ever-changing land and seascapes that have filled me with joy over the last few years, ever since I discovered Kalkan.
Visitors can become 'Kalkanised' and have a strong urge to repeat visits over and over again...
Bellapais benefits from the most extraordinary views and is situated just above the beautiful Hotel Mediteran in Kiziltas just above the D400 with the stunning Atlas mountains behind.
For those who love hiking, Kalkan and the surrounding areas provide ample opportunities.
Close by is also the Samira Suites and the very good newly opened Tesoro Pizza restaurant providing probably the best pizza and pasta in the area.
It's a very easy stroll downhill into town (10-15 minutes) but let's be honest, it's a tough walk back up! I do it and it gets me fitter for sure.
But with shopping.. probably better not to try!
Fortunately taxis are aplenty and not expensive in Kalkan.
The villa has 3 Double bedrooms two of which are en suite and the other is on the ground floor with bathroom opposite.
With a private Swimming Pool off the main terrace and with barbecue areas, chill out area and a good sized roof terrace, Bellapais has plenty of space.
The Villa has been set up to accommodate 3 Adult Couples, Or an Adult Couple and teenagers. Or two adult couple and a teenager. You get the gist. Grown people.
It isn't well suited to small children.

This website has been set up primarily to accommodate friends and family who can help me maintain it and improve it year on year and contribute to the many bills and at the same time get a more keenly priced holiday in one of the jewels of the Turquoise Coast.
My hope is that it will be improved year on year and you will be excited to come back again.
In the last year the whole villa has been repainted inside and out, Also all the ceramic floors on all levels of the villa have been replaced with stunning travertine including balconies, upstairs bathrooms and the fabulous roof terrace.,
The former kitchen has been replaced with a handmade minimalist one to complement the neutral tonality of the whole villa.
All the air con units are new and much more efficient added to which I have had ceiling fans installed.
Of course those who know me well, know that I will feel there is much still to do....
At the time of writing, there is a garden area mostly out of view to the side of the villa which is quite overgrown. In the next couple of years, I hope to create a pagoda garden and a Petanque area! whilst trying to sustain much of the existing trees and plants.
I would also like to update bathrooms and also make a decision on how to proceed with the top floor area. ..one year at a time..
I think you will love it as it is. I do hope so.
Of Kalkan itself...
It is said that most people who visit Kalkan come back time after time. It's a pretty addictive place!
